ELAR 7th Grade

Honors and GT English

This week we will continue reading Animal Farm by George Orwell. We will be reading and annotating together as a class. We should complete Animal Farm this week; we will begin working on their propaganda posters for Animal Farm. Refugee exam was moved to the 9th and 10th of September.

Reminder: Please turn in Movie permission slip on or before September 13, 2024.

MATH

7th grade math honors

Will continue solving equations with the variable on both sides and we will also write and model linear equations.

Algebra I

Will work towards mastering the skills for the test on solving equations and inequalities as well as literal equations.

Tutoring hours are currently posted in google classroom.

Tuesday : 3:45 to 4:15pm

Make up work: Monday and Thursday 7:45 to 8:10

7th grade Honors SCIENCE

This week we will really dive into the SOLAR SYSTEM!! We will be working towards understanding the patterns of movement, organization, and characteristics of components of our solar system.

We will also be taking our Fall Science MAP test on Thursday 9/5! This is used as a baseline to see what the students know, IT IS NOT A GRADE!! The goal moving forward is to improve their understanding and ultimately their scores as the year goes on!!

Honors Texas History

Students just finished learning about the Spanish explorers. This week we will start talking how the French including La Salle challenged the Spanish for claims in Texas. We will also have two MAP testing days.

We are still working hard in our typography unit. Students have decided on their quotes for their quote project and they are now making choices about fonts, kerning, leading and tracking to make their project look the very best.

Students will work in Photoshop to continue to explore the powers of the program. They will use their newly gained knowledge of text effects to communicate their skills to their client to ensure they will make a graphic their client will be happy with.
