ELAR 7th Grade

Honors and GT English

This week we will be starting our argumentative unit and analyzing court cases. We will construct our own arguments and create a podcast discussing main points in the case.

MATH

7th grade math honors

This week we will learn about dilations and practice the other transformations including translations, rotations and reflections.

Algebra I

This week we will be graphing quadratic functions. We will also practice key features of parabolas.

TUTORING

Tuesday : 3:45 to 4:15pm

Make up work:

Monday and Thursday 7:45 to 8:15 am

7th grade Honors SCIENCE

Welcome back Eagles, we are moving into our thermal energy portion of our energy and forces unit. We also have our exciting Sciecne fair coming up on Jan. 16th. please email me if there is any questions with their science fair projects! Tutoring hours are available by appointment only for before and after school and are offered during lunch MTWF.

Honors Texas History

This week students will be learning about events the inevitably led to the Civil War. We will be focused very heavily on the issues of states' rights, slavery, sectionalism, and territorial acquisitions resulting from the US/Mexican War. This unit will provide ample map skill builders as we analyze how the development of states can shift political power in government.

Students will be working on and mastering key editing techniques in Adobe Premiere. We are recalling the basics from 6th grade and building on them so that we can use these skills in our future video production unit. There will be a lot of work this semester please make sure your students come to tutoring if they are falling behind.
