Painting mysteries have fascinated people for ages and are often surrounded by theories and assumptions. We, humans, love to study the past, especially art that uncovers history and tells us about forgotten times. The art world we know is brimming with secrets that it has held for years and some even for centuries. But why do these paintings have such secrecy around them? Artists throughout history have intentionally put secret messages in their paintings; often to challenge their viewers, reveal something about themselves, or make a political statement. We are going to try and uncover some of the mysteries behind the the artists Gustav Klimt, Domenico Ghirlandaio, Banksy, Da Vinci and Van Gogh.
