Backpacks
What fills your bucket?
For our NEFEC Team, filling the bucket always includes supporting our fifteen partner districts. This time, we were able to collaborate with Title IV- Part A and Title IX- Part A, to share 180 backpacks with our most precious friends; the students. The sturdy backpacks contained hygiene kits and a variety of school supplies.
We appreciate the possibility to serve this way.
Professional Learning Support
NEFEC members had the opportunity to support Nassau County Schools during their back to school pre-planning sessions. The professional learning opportunities included the areas of Civics, Foreign Language Acquisition, and Resiliency Education.
Youth Mental Health Awareness Training
Consistent with section 1012.584, Florida Statutes (F.S.), and the Florida Department of Education (FDOE), NEFEC trains and provides the necessary materials to assist district and school personnel in the identification of the signs of mental health concerns and substance use disorders. This training provides such personnel with the next steps to find help for a person who is developing or experiencing mental health concerns or a substance use disorder.
This calendar year, we have been delighted to train faculty and staff from Hamilton, Nassau, and Putnam Counties. We have plans to train other districts soon.
