About Ms. Hurley

Hello and welcome to Community 19's website!

I am excited to get to know your child and family, and look forward to working together to support your child's learning, growth and engagement.

I joined Mitchell last year and love being a part of the Mitchell community! I previously taught in Framingham and Andover, and this is my fourth year teaching fifth grade. I've also worked in roles focused on math, special education, and social-emotional learning. I completed my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and Psychology at Bates College and Northeastern University, and my Masters degree in Elementary and Special Education at Boston University.

Everyday, I love engaging with my students, growing our thinking, and persevering through challenges. I want each student to feel supported, challenged, and engaged in their learning. I actively work to develop our classroom community and build close relationships with my students and their families.

I'm looking forward to a great year! Thank you for sharing your children with me everyday!

I love spending time with my family!

I grew up in Wellesley, but my dad grew up in Needham, so the rivalry has a long history in our family!

I am a big Boston sports fan. I am a Red Sox season ticket holder and am lucky enough to attend about 10 games each season (but unfortunately, not this season).

During the summer, I enjoy spending time on Cape Cod. I love to swim, kayak, read on the beach, run, and be outside as much as possible!
