Legacy

A photo from when she was just starting out at farmers markets.

Sweet Tahini

In 2017, my mother founded Sweet Tahini, a Mediterranean and Middle-Eastern cuisine company. She sells nostalgic food products and teaches people traditional recipes at dining events. Her goal is to bring the flavors of Israel and the surrounding regions into Boston kitchens.

Family

In Texas, my parents had a fourth kid: a daughter named Tamar. They were not worried about raising a new child in an unfamiliar world because we had each other.

Throughout all these years, we have maintained a connection to Israel. We visit almost every summer. We even remain in contact with our old neighbors from the apartment in Rehovot. However, she risked losing all these connections in 2009 when she immigrated to the United States. My mother's story is one of taking a risk to start a new life.
