WEB BROWSER COMPATIBILITY
NAVIGATION
A top navigation bar is present throughout the site. Students will see the Registration, Grades, Finances, and Search menu options.
REGISTRATION
Courses - During registration periods, students may register for courses online. The student must clear of any registration holds to be eligible for online registration. All students must submit the Financial Responsibility Letter online prior to course registration.
Navigate to Registration > Courses
Complete any on screen agreements prior to registering for courses.
Searching for Courses:
You can search for courses by selecting ‘Courses’ under either the ‘Registration’ or ‘Search’ links at the top of the page.
The Basic Search allows you to search for courses by course number or title using either a part of the number/course title or the entire number/course title.
The Advanced Search allow you to use additional filters to look for courses. The most helpful filters are:
· Status (Open/Closed)
· Program (Undergraduate/Taught-With/Graduate)
· Department
· Curriculum (Major) – Allows you to look for courses designed for/limited to specific majors
· General Education – Helpful for Undergraduates searching for courses that fulfill General Education credit requirement
You can tell if a course is open or not by looking to the right of the course title where there is an indication as to the number of seats left in the course. If your registration group is active, an ‘Add’ button will also appear next to the course if it is open and you may add the course to your cart at that time.
Registering for Courses:
As part of pre-registration, you have been registered for studio instruction; some majors have also been registered for ensembles and workshops as required by their department. Be sure to not drop these from your schedule.
Once the registration period for your registration group is ‘Open’, you will have two options in terms of registering for courses.
· You may fill your cart with selected courses and complete registration by selecting ‘Register’ after reviewing your entire schedule.
· You may register for a class one at a time by selecting “Register” after adding the course to your cart.
Other items to note:
Courses will remain in your cart until you either click “Register” or remove them from your cart.
The courses placed into your cart will appear on the top of the screen while you search for additional courses.
The list of courses you are registered for along with their schedule times will appear below courses that are in your cart.
You must be in your cart to "Drop" courses. You may only drop courses one at a time; each time you drop a course the system will ask you to confirm your decision.
SPECIAL PERMISSION CLASSES
· Classes requiring instructor permission as a pre-requisite will be available for online registration by selecting “Permission Request” when the course has been added to your cart. The course will remain in your cart until permission is granted. Once granted, you can then register for the course.
· You are not able to register for certain special permission situations online, including:
o Enrolling in a course over its maximum limit
o Independent study
o Waivers of pre-requisites
o Time-conflicts
o Undergraduate students looking to enroll in graduate only courses, and
o Auditing a course
The adding of these classes must be coordinated with your Academic Advisor.
Please note that all other classes are available for online registration and you should complete your schedule online prior to visiting the Office of Student Services for special permission classes.
