First Nation, Metis and Inuit Voluntary Self Identification

Self-Identification is important to our school communities, it is essential to know who our students are and which communities we serve.

Self-Identification allows schools to understand more about the population they serve and to adapt and improve programming based on those demographics.

Further this allows us to increase supportive programs, provide focused support to bridge achievement gaps and provide additional opportunities for cultural and experiential learning opportunities.

We encourage students to identify their Indigenous ancestry if they have not done so already.
