Future SBOs and Class presidents/vice presidents!
Here is some important information for you:
1- SBO/ Class President and Vice president elections will be held on Tuesday March 24th. The Utah County election committee will be running the election for us during 1st-2nd periods.
2- You will need to turn in your budget report before election day. (March. 13th would be a good day for that)
3- You need to get your posters/handouts approved by Mrs. Ethridge or Mrs. Benson before hanging them up or passing things out. Please come see me by Friday, March 13th to get them approved You may hang up your posters FRIDAY AFTER SCHOOL.
4- You may start campaigning on Monday, March 16th (posters up and passing out stuff)
5- I (Mrs. Ethridge) will NOT be at school on March 12, 16 or 17- so if you have questions on those days talk to Mrs. Benson
6- SBO/Class officer elections will only be for President and Vice president. ALL other SBO/Class positions will now be by application.
7- Remember- if you do NOT get elected as the SBO or Class President/Vice president- Please come in and talk to us (by March 25th) so we can consider you for one of the other SBO or Class positions.

To apply to be on MMHS Student Council you must:
be currently attending MMHS AND planning on attending MMHS for the ENTIRE 2026/27 school year.
carry a full schedule for the entire school year.
have at least a 3.25 GPA and have no unexcused absences.
Student Council is B1- you have to schedule the class.
be able able to attend the Student Council Summer Leadership Camp June 16-18. The camp will be at Utah State University in Logan, UT. The cost for the conference is $300.
You will be required to purchase a student council sweater. These sweaters are about $265.
You will need to submit the following with your application:
A copy of your transcript (your grades)
Attendance record
Detention report ( you shouldn't have detentions)
2 letters of Recommendation
Essay explaining your qualifications
Photo of you

Class Officers (Senior, Junior, Sophomore): President and Vice President
You must submit your application packet to Mrs. Ethridge or Mrs. Benson by Tuesday, March 3rd @3:00 pm.
Student Council Advisors and Admin will review all applications and let all applicants know by Wednesday, March 11th at 3:00pm whether or not they have met all of the requirements to be on the ballot. If you are excluded from the ballot you will not be able to apply for any other position.
Student Council Election will be held on March 24th.
If you are not elected - you may apply for one of the appointed positions by informing the Advisors what position you would like to be considered for by March 25th

Applications for the appointed positions will be due before March 24th at 3pm. We will go through the applications and start interviewing candidates starting the next week. Our plan is to have the council positions filled before Spring Break.
