Term 2: Feedback

Hattie's Feedback Model

Goal Setting

Now that your department has completed questions one and two from Hattie's Model for Thinking About Feedback, it is the time to set a specific feedback goal for your classroom. Your goal can be centered around either of Hattie's first two feedback questions:

  1. What could I do to to clarify learning goals with students and to ensure goals are appropriately challenging?

-OR-

2. What could I do to better understand my students’ progress (what kind of formative assessment can I implement)?

The first step is to submit a plan. This shouldn't take long. Simply answer the few questions on THIS form to get yourself started. At the end of the term, after implementing your plan and monitoring your results, fill out THIS final form to self-evaluate and share your results.

Any teacher that participates in both the planning and evaluation survey will be entered into a drawing for a gift certificate. Any teacher that participates in two of the three planning and implementation projects will be entered into a final drawing for prizes.

Due Date for plan submission: Friday, February 15, 2019

I will send out reminders about due dates.

This is not meant to overhaul your teaching or to add significantly to your workload. Impactful change and visible learning can come from small , simple changes.

Remember, good teaching is not an accident!

Resources: Receiving Feedback

Question to consider: How do you regularly collect evidence of student understanding and progress? What forms of formative assessment do you use in your classroom?

Feedback that is collected from formative assessment should:

        • Determine the next steps in learning
        • Inform feedback that will progress learning
        • Assist teachers in evaluating the impact of their teaching and learning activities
