Nebraska Youth Health Equity Project

The Nebraska Youth Health Equity Project will foster youth leadership development and community engagement while addressing a health issue in rural Nebraska. The Nebraska Youth Health Equity Project utilizes teams of youth ages 12-19 (grades 7 - 12) in collaboration with an adult coach. Teams consist of a minimum of 3 youth and 1 adult coach to 1) engage in learning about health equity; 2) determine local health equity needs; 3) seek to address the local health equity need; 4) communicate results of the youth-driven project in a spring 2024 showcase.

The project is a partnership between Nebraska Extension, Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, and Nebraska FCCLA.
