PHILIPPINE DANCING
Bulaklakan (boo-lak-LA-kan) and Binisuan (bih-nah-SOO-ahn) are Philippine cultural dances highlighting the agriculture of the Visayas (bee-SAH-yahs) and Luzon (loo-SON).
Bulaklakan, whose name comes from Bulaklak (translation flower) celebrates the rich floral resources and agricultural abundance, symbolizing life, growth, and gratitude.
Binisuan, whose name comes from a traditional sugarcane wine, symbolizes how food and drink are central to Filipino hospitality.
These dances represent community spirit.
Student performers: Riley Becker, Elise and Ollie Cordero, Declan Cuaderno, Tessa Matsuhara, Harry Ouano-Dodd, Tegan Sellers, Alexandra and Orion Sese, supported by Catharine Cuaderno and Christine Ouano-Dodd
