Foodborne illness, also known as food poisoning, is any illness that results from eating contaminated food.
Many of the symptoms are similar to the "stomach flu" and are often dismissed as the flu.
Foodborne illnesses are increasingly becoming recognized. Some of the bacteria we know today were not known 20 years ago. It's important for us to learn how to prevent foodborne illness so we can live healthy lives.
