Working directly with faculty and graduate students who study equine science at one of the four institutions involved (see our Project Management Team page).
Meeting weekly and developing collaboration with other undergraduate students that are a part of your cohort at each of the 4 participating institutions.
Conducting, analyzing, and presenting a research project that centers around horse health and performance.
This research fellowship is built around a core set of student-centered learning outcomes. These are categorized as: (examples provided)

Horses are incredible mammalian athletes and an excellent model in which to study questions that affect both horses and humans! Examples include nutrition, reproduction, skeletal biology, thermoregulation, growth and development, inflammation, and so many other topics relevant to human and equine athletes.
Conducting research with horses is a unique and rare opportunity that can contribute to building a scientific portfolio that sets you apart and provides knowledge that can be used in a wide range of different careers.
The focus of this program on utilizing precision technology means that you will have an opportunity to use novel tools to seek insight on yet to be solved problems. Our goal is to put you on the cutting edge!
