In your personal statement, we would like to see you explain why you are interested in participating in this multi-university undergraduate research experience. Some questions you should consider:
Why are you pursuing an undergraduate degree, and what do you hope to achieve during your time at your college or university?
What are your career goals, and why are those your goals?
In what ways have your experiences and background influenced your goals?
How will the REEU help you accomplish your goals?
What do you expect to gain from the REEU experience?
Please write a 1 to 2 page statement relative to the areas described. Please use 12-point, Times New Roman font, 1" margins, and single spacing format. Once complete, make a PDF copy for easy upload on the application form.
Students will be asked to rank their location preference (most preferred = 1, least preferred = 4). Locations include:
Clemson University, Clemson, SC
North Dakota State University, Fargo, ND
Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA
Tarleton State University, Stephenville, TX
These letters should come from a work supervisor, professor, faculty advisor or others that can speak to your academic capabilities, your work ethic, and/or your potential as a student researcher. It would also be valuable to know about any animal handling experience you have. You will need to provide names and email addresses for two individuals who will be writing your letters. Those references will be contacted automatically by our team to receive their recommendation of you for this opportunity.
