Our mission as the NDSU Agricultural Data Analytics is to provide valuable insights and recommendations to optimize research data management and data analytics practices across the NDSU Agricultural Experiment Station and Extension. Through the use of state-of-the-art statistics and AI techniques, advanced database management technologies, and software engineering practices, we aim to identify key performance indicators and trends to inform decision-making across the entire agricultural value chain, from crop management and agriculture modeling to the hands of those that support farmers and ranchers. By leveraging our expertise in data collection, analysis, and visualization, we strive to enable our stakeholders to make more informed, data-driven decisions, ultimately contributing to the growth and success of the agriculture industry in North Dakota.
Our vision as the NDSU Agricultural Data Analytics is to be a driving force for data innovation and digital transformation for the NDSU Agricultural Experiment Station and Extension. Through our applied research in big data management and analytics, we aim to transform how agricultural data is collected, analyzed, and used. We envision a future where researchers and extension agents have access to real-time, actionable insights that enable them to optimize operations, increase yields, and reduce waste, while generating recommendations for farmers, ranchers, and agribusinesses in less time. We strive to be leaders in the development and deployment of data-driven solutions for the NDSU AES that address the pressing challenges facing the agriculture industry. Our ultimate goal is to contribute to a more sustainable, resilient, and profitable agriculture industry that meets the needs of today's consumers and future generations.
Our main goal is to modernize and optimize the way ND AES research and extension programs adopt technology. To do this our strategy is to introduce faculty, staff, and students to the use of platforms that offer solutions for all the stages of data research, variety testing, experimental design, database management, statistical analysis, model selection and reporting of results.
Our continued goal is to expedite the research activities through a series of automation routines using a variety of programs, scripts and database queries.
