Are you interested in helping the school play or musical come to life on stage without being on stage yourself? Assistant directing, choreographing, or technical directing is the place for you! Direct a scene, choreograph a dance, or help ensure tech is on track and meeting all necessary deadlines! These positions are interviewed for before every show.
Do you like to organize and the oversee the technical and acting elements of production? Stage Management is the place for you! Learn and practice valuable skills in communication and get an insight into the process of building a show. Work to collaborate with technical departments, directors, and actors, create extensive sheets and ensure that all departments are working well with one another as well as that actors are on top of learning their lines and materials.
Do you love ensuring a production is on track and helping to facilitate meetings and lead teams? Production management is for you! In this role, lead weekly production meetings with the technical crew and director(s) to keep everyone connected and on track to meet deadlines, create schedules for load-in and strike, and send emails to make sure that all departments are following schedules and are up to date on any new changes!
Both of these positions are interviewed for prior to every mainstage production as well as for smaller scale one acts or dance shows.
Notre Dame's shows are entirely designed by students! Students design the costumes, lighting, audio, sets, makeup, and props of every show! Each of these positions are able to create their own ideas, share their visions with others, and ultimately see their designs come to life on stage while having lots of fun! If you're interested, design interviews are held before every show!
