Have a safe and fun summer!! First day of school - Aug. 25, 2025
The Our Faith, Our Children, Our Future, School Tuition Organization, or STO, is Notre Dame Catholic School's primary source of tuition assistance. It provides grants for qualified students to attend non-public schools within the Archdiocese of Dubuque.
The STO receives voluntary cash contributions from Iowa taxpayers and allocates those funds to tuition grants for families based on their identified financial need. Beginning in January families can complete an application for the new school year, which is confidentially reviewed by FACTS, and grants are announced in May.
Over half of our families receive tuition assistance through the Archdiocese's STO program. STO grants are available for K-12 students who reside in Iowa and whose household adjusted gross income is at or below 400 percent of the federal poverty rate. STO grants are not available for playgroup and preschool students. STO grants are available for incoming kindergarten through sixth grade students.
Each year the federal government provides the guidelines for qualification. Contact the office for qualifying levels. We strongly encourage ALL to apply for STO assistance if they fall within the qualifying levels.
To help you fund your child's education at Notre Dame, PLEASE apply for STO assistance!
Notre Dame values and encourages our parents and community members to volunteer in our schools. We believe that volunteers make a valuable contribution to our faculty, staff and students. Adminstration and classroom teachers offer volunteer opportunities.
A public bus service in Cresco that students can use to get around town – including to and from school. NEICAC-Transit is the state public transit service for NE Iowa. They offer intown Cresco services 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, Monday–Friday (excluding holidays).
During these times riders can ride within the city limits of Cresco for the cost of $2.00 per ride. They will pick up and drop off at any address requested, including home, daycare, etc.
Notre Dame School has adjusted our peanut & tree nut policy from a "Peanut Free" school to a "Peanut Aware" school. This means food items with peanuts and tree nuts can be in the building but we need to be aware of them. This includes sack lunches, snacks, or any other item that contains peanuts such as peanut butter.
All snacks, such as birthday treats, that are brought into the school must be prepackaged with nutrition labeling, so that the listing of ingredients is available.
Your cooperation in keeping all of our children safe is very much appreciated.
