The fourth grader recently presented her work in class at Kennedy Elementary School in South Bend, IN.
We are so proud of her and her mom, who just finished her 2nd year in the Ph.D. program in Political Science at Notre Dame, and is writing several scholarly papers on Wollstonecraft as part of her degree, while assisting with the production of volume 4 of Wollstonecraft's Works for OUP.
This may be the best product yet of our 3-year NEH Scholarly Editions project on creating an integrated standard edition of Wollstonecraft's Vindications for OUP!
Mary Wollstonecraft would be so proud of this moment, as it is an expression of her arguments in the Vindications about the birthright of all children to free public education as a pathway to equal citizenship in modern constitutional democracies.
