Are you ready to be a great online learner? Evaluate yourself with this great self-assessment tool.

This tool is designed to help you learn about the thinking, or metacognitive skills, that you use. Each question can offer insight into how yourself, and is designed as a tool for self-reflection. Adapted from the original inventory by Scraw and Dennison (1994), the items are classified by the types of knowledge. Notre Dame Resources

First year advising offers resources for students that provides resources for first year students, including month-by-month guides, advising information, academic information, event notifications and more.

Notre Dame International is an excellent resource for international students. The ISSA, as part of NDI, provides programs and events, resources, and support for students transitioning to life at Notre Dame.

The Center for the Study of Languages and Cultures (CSLC) is dedicated to the advancement of linguistic proficiency and cultural awareness for students, staff, faculty, and spouses in all languages across the Notre Dame community. Our three complementary foci are:

  1. Educational collaborations

  2. Instructional and technological support

  3. Language and cultural enrichment

Did you know there are shortcuts to log in to your ND Gmail and other Google services? If you visit google.nd.edu you are taken directly to Google Drive, or to the login page if you are not already logged in. You can also skip logging in to insideND or visiting gmail.com by going directly to gmail.nd.edu for Gmail. You can also go directly to Google Calendar by visiting gcalendar.nd.edu.

You can also use Google Calendar to:

  • Add your due dates at the beginning of the semester

  • Block out study time on your calendar

  • Review every Monday morning and write down in your calendar

  • Capture your tasks, ideas, due dates and events

Google Groups is a self-service solution for email lists, collaborative inboxes, and other group communication. In addition to delivering email to a group from the convenience of a single address, you can invite your Group to your Google Calendar events or share files and folders in Google Drive.

Knowing how to find information efficiently is a key skill for students. The above link is a resource guide put out by freetech4teachers.com. The University of Notre Dame Hesburgh Libraries also have lots of resources to help you learn to search for information efficiently and effectively. One online text that is available is Internet Research Skills by Niall Ó Dochartaigh. Keep an eye out for useful workshops offered by the staff that can help you with your academic writing, research and more.

Stop, Think Breath is a mindfulness app that you can download onto your iOS or Android system that can help you to stay focused and manage your stress. You can set your timer to remind you stop after studying for 20-25 minutes, think about what you have learned, and breathe to relax and focus.
