Students at North Country have the opportunity to audition for our fall musical production during the second week of school. No previous theater experience is required. Rehearsals take place after-school and the show opens the first weekend in November. Rehearsals are mandatory during tech week (the week of the show). Student athletes are encouraged to join but may not be cast in a lead role. Students also have the option to be a part of the Tech Crew if they do not want an acting role.
Students at North Country are able to join tap club whether they have/have not tapped before. Students in tap club will play with percussive body movement, gain a better understanding of tempo and musicality, and create a choreography with tap terminology to be performed in the spring recitals. This club meets in the Auditorium during flex block. Members are required to be a part of our winter & spring performances.
Students at North Country have the opportunity to assist with events that happen in the Auditorium by joining the Student Tech Crew. Responsibilities include running and maintaining the lights, the sound board, building and painting sets, helping backstage, running the curtains and working professionally with outside organizations. Students are expected to show up to events/rehearsals on time. Elective credit/Independent Study work may be an option as well.
