The NCU off-season training program is designed to support the healthy development of well-rounded, multi-sport student-athletes. These training opportunities are open to all NCUHS students, regardless of prior experience or current team placement.
Participation in off-season training is voluntary and not mandatory. Choosing to participate—or not participate—will not affect a student’s placement, playing time, or role during the competitive season.
Off-season sessions focus on skill development through structured skills-and-drills work, along with age-appropriate strength, movement, and conditioning activities. The goal is to help students build confidence, improve fundamentals, and develop overall athleticism in a positive and supportive environment.
Our goal is growth without burnout. Off-season training should encourage students to stay active, challenge themselves, and enjoy improving while maintaining balance with academics, family time, and participation in other sports.
Off-season work is intended to enhance, not exhaust—emphasizing consistent effort, smart training habits, and long-term development rather than short-term performance.
NCU strongly supports and encourages multi-sport participation. Coaches work collaboratively across programs, recognizing that many student-athletes participate in multiple sports throughout the year. Communication and coordination among coaches helps ensure that students can safely balance commitments and feel supported in all programs.
Off-season training opportunities are designed to build interest, skills, and participation, not exclude students from teams or create barriers to involvement. Every student is encouraged to participate at a level that fits their individual schedule, interests, and overall well-being.
No student-athlete will be excluded from a team or have their role negatively impacted due to the level of off-season participation. Every athlete is encouraged to engage at a level that fits their individual schedule, interests, and overall well-being.
Our shared priority is creating an inclusive environment where all NCUHS student-athletes feel supported, valued, and motivated to grow—both on and off the field.
