Employer’s Responsibilities:
The employer will observe all laws and regulations, both State and Federal, pertaining to the employment of minors.
Where a union or bargaining agency is involved, the employer will obtain union approval of the program.
If a student is absent from school, he or she cannot work that day. The coordinator may make expectations to this rule if circumstances warrant.
Because there are wages paid with this assignment, the employer is obligated to provide Workers’ Compensation.
The employer agrees to assign one member of his or her organization to be responsible for the supervision of the training of the student.
The employer/assigned member will be responsible to conduct quarterly evaluations which reflect a student's program proficiencies as well as occupational skills .
Work-Based Learning Coordinator is to be admitted to the employer’s premises as needed to observe and evaluate the student.
The coordinator will arrange the observation so there will be minimal interference with the employer's business.
The employer and or WBL coordinator may terminate this agreement at any time after consulting with one another
