Deborah Henry, the instructor, lived abroad in Chinchero, Perú. Deborah studied the contemporary weaving, spinning and dyeing techniques of the Peruvian Andes to complete her undergraduate degree in Weaving and Allied Disciplines from Prescott College in 1988. As a fiber artist she has taught spinning, weaving, felting and dyeing classes and workshops, given lectures and programs at guilds, curated a retrospective exhibit, exhibited her own work, received the Handweavers Guild of America Award and commissioned individual pieces. Currently teaching Spanish at Lake Region Union High School, she hopes to connect the students interested in fibers with community members to create items for those in need.
