Course Description

This comprehensive training program is designed to prepare individuals for entry-level careers as broadband network technicians. It includes a strong emphasis on safety, with certifications in OSHA 10, flagging, First Aid, and CPR to equip participants for working in outdoor and remote environments.

In addition to technical training, the program focuses on essential professional skills such as communication, teamwork, and leadership to support long-term career advancement. Participants will gain hands-on experience with core broadband competencies, including fiber optic splicing, testing, and repair, as well as an understanding of the basics behind broadband systems.

The training also covers the safe operation of bucket trucks—an essential tool in the field—and introduces pole climbing techniques. Since fiber optic lines are often installed on utility poles, the ability to work safely and effectively at height is a critical component of the job, and participants will be trained to perform these tasks with confidence and precision.
