The Zhang Group
Our laboratory is affiliated with the Department of Molecular Biomedical Sciences at the College of Veterinary Medicine, North Carolina State University (NCSU CVM). NCSU CVM is one of the best veterinary schools in the United States (consistently ranked in the top 5 by US NEWS). It has advanced laboratory equipment, medical devices, and a wide range of animal models (including mice, rabbits, cats, dogs, pigs, cows, and horses), as well as numerous clinical experts. NCSU CVM has vast and potential research goals and serves as an important site for translational research.
Located in the NCSU CVM campus, laboratory members can easily communicate with clinical veterinarians, closely monitor all animal models' conditions, and propose valuable innovative ideas and strategies for implementation.
The goal of our laboratory is to continuously innovate and advance medical practice. Members are required to possess solid foundational scientific knowledge and skills while understanding the theories and methods of clinical research. Research areas include biomaterials, precision drug delivery, tissue engineering (such as wound healing, intestinal repair, bone regeneration, etc.), translational medicine, and artificial intelligence. Our laboratory's research philosophy is to embrace advanced technologies worldwide, pursue groundbreaking scientific discoveries and creations, and ultimately develop research products to meet clinical needs.
Research Areas:
1. Precision Drug Delivery (Inhalation, Cancer targeted, or Local targeting)
2. 3D bioprinting
Recruitment Requirements:
1. Background in chemistry, biomaterials, or related fields, with solid laboratory skills.
2. Strong proficiency in English scientific writing, with valuable publications during or after the doctoral program.
3. Ability to develop proposals that seek funding from federal agencies and industry in related areas of research.
4. While not mandatory, applicants with research experience in medicine, nanoscience, hydrogel materials, cell biology, or technology transfer will be given priority.
5. Willingness to conduct experiments using animal models.
Application Procedure:
Interested candidates are encouraged to contact Dr. Jian Zhang (jzhan257@ncsu.edu) for possible positions.
Applicants selected after the initial screening will be invited for a one-on-one interview.
We look forward to receiving your application and welcoming you to our team.
