These Trot to Trophy learning activities were developed for a DELTA Exploratory Grant 2021-2022.

In 2015 Trot to Trophy (https://trottotrophy.ncsu.edu/) was developed to help teach introductory equine science in a very engaging and fun way. It has been used by many students over the years since but with Flash being deprecated and a need for more advanced content to cover a wider range of studies this project was born. A team consisting of experts from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS), the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), NC State Cooperative Extension, and Digital Education and Learning Technology Applications (DELTA) all came together to collaborate on this effort. Using a range of media and approaches students can learn about equine anatomy, get virtual experience with performing the core steps of a wellness exam, and explore scenarios of horse health and ownership through conversations with several virtual professionals.
