This past two weeks, I had the opportunity of mentoring two summer camps.
For the first time, I had the opportunity of working as a team captain for the summer program Juntos Summer Academy, where I got to work with fantastic students, staff, and other team captains. I learned valuable skills including community building, adapting to various situations, and even working in grade levels ranging from 9 to 12. It was an honor working with Juntos.
I also had the opportunity to serve as a CAMINOS: Your Journey to College mentor for NC State Undergraduate Admissions, Pre-College Programs for the third time, which was a great experience once more. I have the opportunity to mentor a fresh group of students and help them as they pursue higher education! I was also supported by excellent staff and mentors along my journey as a mentor! I learned valuable skills such as group leadership, adapting to new situations, and even assisting students in exploring their alternatives while pursuing higher education.
Truly a remarkable experience!
This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend Southeastern Greek Leadership Association conference where I had the opportunity to meet other leaders and advocates, learn new leadership skills, and hear other viewpoints from like-minded people. This conference was an incredible opportunity, and I aim to apply the ideas and skills I learned in my current roles. Thank you Fraternity and Sorority Life at NC State for this Opportunity.
