The Engineering Lab, located in 111 Lampe Building, provides a Makerspace (Room 356) and Resource Room (Room 354) for all College of Engineering students, focusing on first-year engineering students. We collaborate with the College of Engineering, as well as schools throughout the state of North Carolina, to further Engineering Education.

Students MUST Complete the The Engineering Lab tools and safety training on reporter.ncsu.edu prior to using any tools within the makerspace. To find instructions on how to complete the tools and safety training continue to the Safety & Procedures Tab.
Due to the limited space in the Makerspace, there is a 10 PERSON limit to the room occupancy.
Remember, you ONLY need to complete The Engineering Lab tools and safety training if you need to use the Lab; however, you can stop by the resource room to checkout supplies for Engineering related projects at any time.
Complete the form below.
Need us to 3D print or Laser cut something for a class or project? The Engineering Lab offers both plastic 3D printing services and Laser cut materials to NCSU Students. Please click HERE for more information.
*We are not equipped to accommodate personal projects. If you would like to print a personal project, we recommend checking out the makerspace in Hill Library.*
**This form is for students to request materials without coming into the Resource Room. The materials will be collected and our staff will email you when they are ready for pickup. Students can also come by the Resource Room anytime to pick out materials for themselves. See below for our hours.
Below is a sample request to follow (Please be as descriptive as possible.):
Important Reminder:
All requests for materials must be submitted at least 1 week in advance. This ensures we have adequate time to gather and prepare your materials.
You will receive an email when your materials are ready to pick up. In the email, it will tell you where and when to pick up your materials. Below shows our inventory to give an idea of the materials we have.
Please note that not all items within the inventory system are available for checkout or modification.
