I want to be a high school Chemistry teacher that emphasizes science and reading literacy, as well as collaborative scientific communication and research.
I think I have a very solid foundation in wanting to establish student voice in my classroom, but it can be hard to know how to implement this when I have never really seen it modeled in a science classroom in my experience. I am very passionate about student mental health, as well as science and reading literacy. I think I have a strength in facilitating constructive conversations, as I have seen this modeled and know it will be a priority in my own classroom.
I do really need to work on my classroom management strategies and how to best set myself up for success in that regard. I think it may be difficult to manage being so young and teaching high schoolers. I know realistically, a mutual respect would probably not even do it when there is such a limited age-gap and I am a little nervous of the dynamic that may bring as I am getting on my feet.
