We are the Circle K International Chapter at NC State University. If you were a part of Key Club in high school, this is the collegiate division of that.
Circle K International (CKI) is a student-led collegiate service organization that is part of the Kiwanis International family. We aim to empower college students to make a difference in their local and global communities through service, leadership development, and fellowship through our activities, programs, and events.
In broad terms, our club meetings every other Tuesday consist of the following: Social Meetings, Service Projects, and General Body Meetings.
A more detailed verision of our assortment of activities include:
In-Meeting service projects (Assembling bags for the unhoused, Card making, Hillsborough Street Clean-Ups, Making Dog Toys)
Listening to Guest Speakers
Committee Meetings (Event planning Team, Publicity Team, Scrapbook Team, etc.)
Planning our Haunted House for the kids at the Boys and Girls Club in Raleigh
Planning our Field Day for the kids at the Boys and Girls Club in Raleigh
Providing volunteer opportunities outside of club meetings (Local parks, Community Races, Annual Pancake Breakfast)
We also include many leadership opportunities within our club for those who are interested in stepping up to the plate in contributing to our service as an organization.
First, become an approved member on GetInvolved! (Website Hyperlinked)
GetInvolved is NC State University's main hub for all clubs on campus. This is our way of verifying that we are a registered club in the university. To be an official member listed on our club roster, you must have an account on this platform.
To become an approved member, follow these steps on the GetInvolved website:
Make an account using your University Information
Search "Circle K International" to locate our club's section
Click "JOIN"
Wait to be approved
Once approved, this will become a tab on the left-hand sidebar under "My Organizations"
After that to stay a part of NCSU CKI, all you have to do is show up! Come to our meetings every other Tuesday at 6:00 pm in Riddick Hall 314.
Review our membership requirements to be officially inducted into our club and get access to benefits exclusive to our members!
We welcome any and every volunteer with open arms! Providing service is free to all, and anyone is welcome to participate in our events.
However, only members may have access to certain benefits and the certificate verifying membership.
Starting this year, all service hours that aren't tied to a meeting should be submitted through the Google form located in the Service Hours page.
Simply explain what service you did, how many hours you participated in, and provide a picture of you at the event.
You can pay dues in cash (in-person) or through Venmo (online)! Contact our treasurer in person, by email, or via GroupMe to exchange Venmo information.
The "Hard Deadline" for dues is the meeting before our Fall induction ceremony to have enough time to do our final service hour count before handing out certificates and club T-shirts for the academic year.
However, we do collect dues on a rolling basis for new members who join at any time of the year! Talk to the current club Treasurer if additional assistance is needed.
