Professional Development

Professional Development could be defined as a set of formal opportunities that can assist agents in building expertise about a discipline, strengthening personal growth, and improving communication and teachings skills.

Your knowledge and the resources you use could be of help to your fellow agents. We encourage you to communicate with your District VP of Recognition & Professional Development about:

  • Research you have done or read about.

  • Advanced degrees, licenses and/or certifications you have completed.

  • Information about books or articles you've read that would be useful to other agents.

  • Curricula from other research-based sources such as National Extension, other state's Extension services, and professional associations you use or have used in the past for programming.

Members who have attained professional development advances and accomplishments such as advanced degrees (bachelors, masters, PhD), title promotions, or a graduate level or for-credit continued education certificate from a college/university, will receive a special recognition at the state conference.

N.C. Cooperative Extension prohibits discrimination and harassment on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, sex (including pregnancy), disability, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, and veteran status.
