The two breeds that have been selected for the 2027 show include:

• Buff Orpington

• Rock (possibly Barred - If available)

We will have showmanship, Pen of 3 breed classes for each breed, and a costume contest. Cloverbuds, youth ages 5-7, will receive participation prizes for showmanship, and will be allowed to participate In costume classes, but will NOT participate In the Pen of 3 Breed Shows. 

Youth must be enrolled (and approved) in 4-H, register for the show "event" In 4-H Online, and pay the registration fee by the deadline, as well as maintain a project record book about the process that they submit for judging ahead of the show to compete in the show.

• January 2027 - All participants must enroll/reenroll in 4-H Online.

• January 2027 - Watch the required webinar recordings - Brooding, Nutrition/Housing, & Health

• Jan. 11 Registration Deadline for the Poultry Show event In 4-H Online

• Feb. 13 (tentative pending USPS delivery) families pick-up chicks

• June 1, 2027 - Project Record Books Due (hard copy or digital, but NOT Kaleidoscope)

• June 15, 2027 @ 10 a.m. - NCD 4-H Poultry & Rabbit Show - Location:  King American Legion Post 290, 432 South Main Street, King, NC (in the barn).
