Since I was little, I have been surrounded by such strong women in education (my mother, grandmother, and various other teachers). I want to be yet another pivotal female in the lives of students and the education system overall. I strive to bring an end to systemic racism within public education and advocate for my future students. I will strive to provide quality and equitable education for all of my students, no matter their background, gender, religion, etc. I will promote self-worth in my classroom by instilling confidence in my students and their abilities. I recognize that my students' interests are vital, and I will integrate the ideas of thinking, feeling, and doing as I highlight their importance. Since society is always changing, I will encourage my students to think critically as they develop new ideas for their futures. My classroom will be an outlet for teaching students how to reconstruct society for future generations. Not only do I have the responsibility to transmit knowledge to my students, but I must also teach them the mission of advocating for social activism. I will encourage my students to commit to living authentically through the idea of individual choice.
