Moonlight In The Garden
Volunteer Handbook
Talk about having a great view while you’re volunteering. Moonlight in the Garden at the JC Raulston Arboretum takes place for only six nights in November. (Preview night makes it seven.)
Volunteer shifts are about 5 hours, and there are a variety of available positions varying from taking tickets, greeting guests, monitoring paths, serving complimentary cider, handing out marshmallows, and lighting and extinguishing luminarias.

TIPS:
Dress for the weather. Start a layer warmer than you think you need. This is a rain-or-shine event. Closed-toe, comfortable shoes are a must—many positions involve standing or walking. Lock all valuables in your car trunk or carry them on you.
Bring a flashlight or fully charged cell phone. It’s DARK in the parking area.
Report to Volunteer Check-in at the McSwain Education Center. Sign in, pick up materials, sign out your free volunteer ticket, and get last-minute instructions.
Snacks are available in the McSwain Building Kitchen. Plan to eat a good meal before your shift. You may not have time to get through a food truck line!
Wear your nametag, if you are a regular JCRA volunteer, or pick up a volunteer name tag.
Please return to McSwain and sign out before you leave - drop off any items you used.
Pick up your free ticket good for another public Moonlight in the Garden night at the end of your shift.
