My first career goal was to be Sandy in Grease. Although I did not attain that, I found a way to use my talents on college campus stages. I have 37+ years of experience guiding others into their next life chapter. I focus on aligning actions with values in pursuit of a life you love. I have devoted my life to helping others discover what to devote their life to.
For over a decade I taught Women in the Workforce, Practicing Happiness, Career Exploration and Professional Development at NC State University. I hosted a personal/professional development podcast with over 50K downloads. In 1978 I recorded my first interview on a cassette tape! Adult Marcy went on to be honored with the North Carolina Governor's Award for Excellence and the Outstanding Faculty Award from the Alumni Society. I have a Master’s Degree in Counseling and am Certified in Career Coaching, Gallup Strengths, and Professional Leadership. My career took me from California to Australia before landing me in Raleigh, NC with my husband and two Shelties. I enjoy singing, movement and traveling.

Currently I am working in the College of Engineering at NC State with Doctoral students.
In my role at NC State, I led teams and taught classes on career exploration, career readiness, and professional development. I contributed to the field through published articles on career issues and presentations at national and international conferences. Recognized for my dedication, I have been honored with the Governor's Award for Excellence and the Outstanding Faculty Award from the alumni society.
I have expertise in building trust in teams, careers, Gallup strengths, job search strategies, relationship-building, purpose discovery, goal setting, professionalism, leadership, and values alignment. I have shared my knowledge and insights with thousands of individuals at universities across the globe.
My personal mantra, "Be fully PRESENT and trust the PROCESS as you explore your PATH, releasing the PRESSURE valve to unleash your POTENTIAL."
Drawing on my Gallup strengths in Woo, Strategic, Communication, Empathy, and Activator, I bring ideas to life and I am constantly driven by the primary professional question, "Is there a better way to do this?"
