Research assistants Ashley Murphy, Caleigh Vocke, and Payton Sheffield presented at NC State’s Undergraduate Research Symposium, sharing their experiences as PSY 499 and PSY 498 students in the Law and Development Lab. Ashley highlighted her contributions to a recent project exploring shifts in parent-child conversations before and after the 2024 U.S. presidential election. Caleigh presented her honors thesis focused on courtroom practices involving child witnesses. Payton discussed her work coding child witness testimonies and the insights gained from that process.

Research assistants Ashley Murphy and Caleigh Vocke presented their posters at the 2025 Spring Undergraduate Research Symposium. Murphy’s project focused on reasons parents avoided conversations with their children about the 2024 US Presidential Election, and Vocke’s project focused on factors predicting whether and how often parents engaged in such conversations.

During our Lab Party, we had a fun and creative group activity where we made our own flower arrangements! Everyone got to design their own unique arrangement, mixing and matching colors and textures to create something beautiful. It was a great way to relax, be creative, and enjoy some hands-on fun together!
