Greetings, my name is India Bolden, and I am currently on track for graduating at North Carolina State University in May of 2023 with my Master's in counselor education. For my undergraduate background, I went to North Carolina Central University in 2017 and graduated in May of 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in psychology. Currently obtain a membership with ASCA (American School Counseling Association) which allows me to gain the knowledge necessary to become a proficient counselor of support and advocacy for K-12 students.
My educational background credentials allow me to work with younger children, adolescents, and adults; however, I am currently interning at Lincoln Heights Elementary School training to become a school counselor to children and adolescents in individual or small group counseling and classroom lessons. My theoretical orientation is based on a person-centered, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and solution-focused which helps my students understand different solution with any conflict they might be facing.
My primary goal is to utilize techniques and theories I have that will allow my students to achieve their goals and advocate for themselves. My philosophy in school counseling is to make sure all students are receiving the support they need in order to have success with their education and personal lives.
