THE CALMING CORNER:
My internship site at Lincoln Heights Elementary School, I've conducted an observation on k-5 grades based on their social/emotional needs.
After careful observing and interviewing students from all grade levels, students have expressed anxiety, tiredness, stress, and overwhelmed during the school day.
I created a corner for all students and facility to use when they're feeling overwhelmed throughout the day.
These techniques can not only be used for stress and frustration but, also be used before and after major testing days.
On the bulletin board are different techniques for everyone to use to feel calm and relaxed throughout the day.
Strategies on board include the following; Breathing techniques, drinking water, wall sit-up, stretching techniques, eye resting, and words of encouragements.
