This show is open to 4-H with youth exhibitors ages 5-18 (as of January 1, 2022) and North Carolina residents.
1. All show participants must follow 4-H dress code and closed toed shoes. All Showman & Spectators in barn area must have on closed toe shoes, including all adults. (No Sandals or Flipflops)
2. Registration for show is required by June 13, 2022. No animals can be added the day of the show.
3. Exhibitors must have trained the animals from May 15, 2022. Ownership by exhibitors is not required, but all animals must be under exhibitors’ care.
4. All sheep must meet USDA Scrapie regulations.
5. Sheep must be sheared and clean.
6. Classes will be divided by weight as evenly as possible. Classes are arranged and may be combined or split at the discretion of the show officials.
7. All wether lambs must have baby teeth in place at the time of the show.
8. If exhibitor has 2 animals in the same class, exhibitor will show one of those entries while another show participant is allowed to show the additional animal. Adults are not eligible to show.
9. Once the animal is set up, the feet shall remain upon the ground.
10. Limited wash or electrical facilities are available, participants encouraged to have animals ready to show upon arrival.
11. All participants are automatically entered in their respective showmanship classes.
12. Health certificates are not required. Any animals deemed unfit may be disqualified at the discretion of the show staff. Any animal showing sign of contagious disease (such as club lamb foot, ringworm, etc.) or a Body Condition Score of 3 or lower will NOT be allowed to show. Animals will be removed from the show grounds immediately.
13. Animals are expected to be humanely treated at all times. Any acts of mistreatment will not be tolerated and will result in expulsion from the show and forfeiture of premiums.
14. Cloverbuds must lead their animal being shown in the ring.
15. There will be no premiums. Ribbons will be awarded for 1st – 3rd place in each class as well as Grand and Reserve .
