PHI/STS 325, Biomedical Ethics

PHI/STS 325: Biomedical Ethics (3 cr., Spring). 

The goal of this course is to deepen understanding of the ethical issues in human medicine using philosophical and scientific modes of inquiry.  You will learn a method for analyzing, mapping and evaluating the validity and soundness of arguments about proper practice in medicine and biotechnology. We hone these skills of critical thinking on topics including euthanasia, informed consent, human experimentation, the allocation of medical resources, abortion, and reproductive technologies.
