PHI 816, Research Ethics

PHI 816: Introduction to Research Ethics (1 cr., Fall & Spring). 

The goal of this course is to welcome NC State doctoral students into the community of scholars. Readings and exercises are designed to support and empower you, assist you in meeting others, and raise your comfort level in your scholarly endeavors. The course introduces the rewards of and obstacles to research; the causes and consequences of misconduct; the rights and obligations of professionals; the habits of excellent mentors; and the social responsibilities of researchers. Course is required of all NC State doctoral students in Physics, Biomedical Engineering, and Public Administration. Meets NIH and NSF research ethics training grant requirements. Fulfills Botany's research ethics requirement.
