The 2023 Fall Energy and Water Competition has ended...

Congrats to the winners, Tucker and Owen!

September 25th - October 20th

The Sustainability Stewards have partnered with the Inter-Residence Council (IRC) to promote energy and water reductions within campus residence halls at NC State University. In the past, the Stewards have held this competition between smaller groupings of dormitories (named districts), such as the Tri-Towers or West Campus dorms (Sullivan, Lee, etc.). This past spring, the competition spanned across mostly all campus residences. 

This fall, a smaller group will once again participate in the competition. The three contending groups will be: 

• Tri Towers (Carrol, Metcalf, Bowen)

• Tucker and Owen

• Turlington and Alexander

Energy and water data will be collected thanks to the help of DASA Housing Engineers, and normalized by the Sustainability Stewards to show which dorms have reduced their consumption the most.

The winning group of the competition will be rewarded with a pizza party prize.
