Unplug electronics before you leave! Many devices, like chargers, will consume energy if they're plugged in while you're gone at class.
Keep your suite doors closed. This will limit the strain on the HVAC, and it will also help out any personal air filters.
Easy on the thermostat! Try to set it at a single temperature in the 70°-75° range.
Run the laundry with cold water. Most of the energy used in a washing machine cycles goes toward heating the water.
Use sunlight! If the temperature outside is nice, enjoy natural light coming through your windows.
Take the stairs; elevators use a lot of energy. It's also great exercise!
Study at our libraries! Spreading energy usage loads across campus can help your building be more competitive.
Maintain a constant temperature all day! Even better if everyone on your floor keeps the same temperature! Your towers' HVAC will thank you.
Keep curtains and blinds closed on hot or cold days to buffer the outdoor temperature from your room. Otherwise, enjoy the natural light with your overhead off!
