"Growing Healthy Plants, Pollinators, and People"
Extension Master Gardener (EMG) College 2024, was held September 24-26, at the James B. Hunt Library on NC State's Centennial Campus in Raleigh. It provided NC State Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteers and Extension professionals from across North Carolina the opportunity to meet new people, learn about the latest research, and share ideas. EMG College 2024 featured:
Educational sessions, tours, and workshops that increased participants knowledge and skills related to growing healthy plants, pollinators, and people, including optional preconference tours that were held on September 24th in Wilson, Asheboro, and Raleigh.
Continuing education hours - Preconference tours provided 4 hours of continuing education. Attending both days of the main conference on Sept. 25 & 26 provided 11 hours of continuing education. If you attend all dates, you earned 15 continuing education hours toward your annual EMG certification requirement! How to submit education hours for EMG College.
Learn-Grow-Share lightning talks featured local projects presented by the EMG volunteers involved.
Scholarships funded by the NC EMG endowment allowed 14 EMG volunteers to attend EMG College who otherwise would not have been able to due to financial hardship.
EMG College is an in-person, continuing education conference hosted by the NC State EMG program in even years. It is open to all certified NC State EMG volunteers, interns, students, emeriti, and Extension professionals, who apply and share what they learn in communities across North Carolina through their service with N.C. Cooperative Extension.
Learn how you can become a Master Gardener volunteer, connect with volunteers in your community, or support our efforts to cultivate healthy gardens, landscapes, and communities by connecting people and plants through research-based information, educational programming, and community outreach.
