A greater distinction was established between the efforts of Prevention Services and the Counseling Center in regards to outreach this year. The coordination of outreach moved under Prevention Services this year and Counseling Center staff continue to participate in programming. A focus of outreach from the Counseling Center staff is on more mental health specific topics. Outreach was another area of Counseling Center services that was utilized at a smaller rate during COVID.
The utility of meeting students through digital platforms has never been more important, which became even more abundantly clear in 2020.
The Counseling Center website at counseling.dasa.ncsu.edu received 232,006 page views (increase of 3 percent) from 107,627 unique users (increase of 30 percent).
Social Media outreach expanded this year with a focus on information, intervention, and inspiration for students. Our current social media platforms include Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and seek to connect and unite our campus community around events and stigma reduction.
During the last year,
Counseling Center Facebook page “likes” increased to 1359 likes (3 percent increase)
Twitter followers increased to 840 followers (12 percent increase)
Instagram followers increased to 1584 (22 percent increase)
