Writing Studio Consultants
Hello everyone! I am Noah Senzon, and I will be your lead writing consultant for the upcoming school year. Book an appointment if you need with any type of writing, or to talk about any of my interests, including guitar, hiking, reading, and thrifting. I hope to see you there!

Pippa Hollingsworth

Hey, I’m Pippa! I participate in FTC robotics (go Appy!), co-lead astronomy club, and love to make art (when I have the time). As a writing studio consultant, I hope to help students gain confidence in the looming projects that are driving them nuts. I like to look over all kinds of writing, including applications and STEM papers. Additionally, I’ve taken Advanced Spanish and am happy to assist with writing projects in the language. Reach out if you have any questions or want to hear my thoughts on why forks are better than spoons!

Hi! I'm Hadley, and I'm so excited to be a writing studio consultant! I've always loved to write, and my goal as a consultant is to teach people writing skills that will be useful throughout the rest of their academic career. I'm incredibly involved with Speech and Debate, the Jewish Cultural Club, Indigo Ridge, and theater here on campus. I also love to read, watch sitcoms, and play guitar. Hello, friends! I’m Alvin, and I am so excited to be a part of the Writing Studio! When I'm not procrastinating on my papers, you can find me in the RChem lab or planning for the Molecular Biology & Biochemistry Club and STEM Buddies. As a writing consultant, I especially enjoy providing feedback on applications and refining personal statements. I’m also happy to assist with academic writing, research papers, creative pieces, and everything in between. I look forward to supporting you throughout the writing process!

Hey, my name is Max, and I'm excited to be a part of the writing studio. I love learning about the humanities and social sciences, especially language, government, and history, and writing is something I really enjoy. I look forward to working side-by-side with anyone who needs help with structure or revisions, or who simply wants a second opinion on their project! I also have experience taking Advanced Spanish here at NCSSM, so I would be happy to assist with projects in that language. I'm passionate about running and reading in my free time, and I am involved in student government and the school newspaper here at NCSSM.

Hello! My name is Riley, and I am from Chapel Hill! I enjoy all types of writing and I’m happy to help with whatever you may need. I enjoy activities like camping, reading, and dancing. At NCSSM, I am a part of the fencing club, YMAA, and Astronomy club. I have experience with Science, Humanities, and Spanish writing assignments, so feel free to reach out with any questions!

Hi, I’m Alina, a writing consultant whose strengths lie in creative writing. I’m best suited for revision and proofreading, but I’m happy to help at any stage of the writing process. While academic writing isn’t my specialty, I’ll always do my best to support you. In my free time, I enjoy action and romance novels, collecting unique fridge magnets, and diving into war history (especially WWII U-boats)! I also have an interest in environmental justice and embrace maximalism. If my hours don’t work for you, feel free to email or G-Chat me. I’d love to find a time that works for you.

Hi, everyone! I’m Monica, and I’m really excited to be a part of the Writing Studio. I’m happy to help with any piece of writing, though I particularly enjoy helping with applications and science research papers. Outside of the Writing Studio, I’m involved in the LACC, IYNA (our neuroscience club), and STEM Buddies club. I also enjoy baking, some reading, and watching Formula 1. I’m excited to work with you all, and I hope to see you soon!

Dr. McDowell
Dr. McDowell is an instructor of American Studies and Humanities (AI and Science Fiction, Creative Writing, and Women and Gender Studies). She first worked in a Writing Studio at Duke University and has been passionate about making writing an accessible process ever since. When she's not grading student papers she's running, hiking, cooking, or snuggling with her two cats.
She always welcomes conversations about writing in office hours, whether or not you're in her class.
Mr. Zimmerman
Mr. Zimmerman is an instructor of American Studies and Humanities (Film Studies, Greek Drama, Southern Studies, etc). He worked in the UNC-G Writing Center as an undergraduate. His primary academic and teaching experiences revolve around the teaching of writing. When he's not in the classroom or grading papers, he's likely to be found running the Morganton roads, in a river with a fly rod, or roasting veggies.
He is available to students for their writing needs during office hours!
