To be eligible, an applicant must be a graduating senior of one of the three cohorts of NCSSM: Durham, Online, and Morganton.
One scholarship will be awarded per cohort.
In the event the selected recipient receives a scholarship to the institution they decide to attend which would be diminished or jeopardized by the disbursement of the scholarship funds to the institution, the Alumni Association can authorize disbursement directly to the recipient. Since the scholarship value exceeds $600, an IRS Form-1099 will be issued. The IRS considers cash prizes and awards above this threshold to be taxable income.
