About the Scholarship

As part of its service to the school, the Alumni Association awards one scholarship to a graduating senior from each of the school's programs - Durham, Online, and Morganton - who best exemplifies the spirit upon which the school was founded. The awards go to the students who, in the opinion of the alumni scholarship selection committee, best:

• serve the NCSSM and/or greater North Carolina community

• take advantage of NCSSM's unique opportunities

• demonstrate leadership

• work hard to accomplish goals

Award winners will have shown high levels of academic performance and involvement that benefit both themselves and the school around them. These are the students for which NCSSM was created; the alumni wish to recognize the students' contributions and achievements.

A given year’s scholarship[s] value[s] are determined annually by the NCSSM Foundation according to standardized percentages and the overall fund’s balance. In Spring 2026, we will be awarding three [3] scholarships, each in the amount of $1,500.

Scholarships are intended to be applied toward tuition and fees at the winners' chosen institution. Checks are submitted directly to each recipient’s institution.
