The 8th Annual North County High School Day of Jazz will be hosted at North County High School in Bonne Terre, MO on Tuesday, October 21st, 2025. Our goal for this event is to provide a FREE positive, educational clinic experience for students and directors. Each clinic will be 50 minutes in length.

Our evening concert with the North County Jazz Bands and our guest clinician / artist is set to begin at 7:00pm. Admission is free! Come join the fun!

ROB BABEL retired from teaching in the St. Louis, Missouri area in June of 2023, after 27 years as Director of Bands at Fort Zumwalt North High School. Under his direction, the FZN Jazz Band presented concerts at The Midwest Clinic three times, the Missouri Music Educators Conference four times and the Jazz Education Network Conference twice. Among the artists the FZN Jazz Band performed with are Bobby Shew, Bill Watrous, Eric Marienthal, Denis DiBlasio, Wayne Bergeron, Steve Houghton, Reggie Thomas, Steve Wiest, Chris Vadala, Chip McNeill, Harry Watters Willie Murillo & James Morrison. In 2016, Mr. Babel received the Charles Emmons Outstanding Band Director Award from Lamda Chapter of Phi Beta Mu and the MMEA Outstanding Music Educator Award. He has also received the Missouri Assocation of Jazz Educators Outstanding Jazz Educator Award and the St. Louis Metro District 8 Music Educator of the Year. In 2024, he was inducted into the St. Louis Metro District 8 Hall of Fame. 

Rob remains active as a clinician and adjudicator and serves at the Music Coordinator for the Lindbergh School District as well as an Educational Representative for Ernie Williamson Music. Rob and his wife Tina live in St. Louis and have three wonderful children, Alex, Kate & Chloe. 

At this time, we are accepting the first 3 registered bands. We will be accepting one band per school unless there are additional available slots within two weeks of the clinic date. Any additional bands will be placed on a waiting list.
